Hitlist is a travel inspiration app that helps travelers plan trips by connecting them with friends and airfare price information. Hitlist allows users to quickly browse destinations, and add them to a “bucket list” of places they want to go.
Travel startup, Tripcommon, engaged General Assembly to redesign and refine their app, Hitlist. We were asked to prioritize new and current features, refine the navigation and optimize screen flow.
Time Frame: 3 weeks
- Validate their unique value proposition
- Working with remote teams, in multiple time zones
- Work within highly limited development resources
- Generate a new model for repeat engagement
We conducted seven interviews with Hitlist’s target demographic - world travelers (age 20s - 30s). We sought to verify our central value proposition, that travelers need a better tool to easily make travel decisions based on price, time flexibility, friends' experiences, and their individual bucket lists.
The redesign adds important travel information such as local weather trends and a brief description of the destinations, a personal profile, the ability to view friends' profiles, and to message friends - all of which is designed in order to better serve and engage the user.
