2012

Sanofi S.A. sought the collaboration of the Pratt Institute in order to bring disruptive innovation to the next generation of insulin pens. Together, we developed numerous insulin pen concepts and prototypes that would better meet global medical needs and modern lifestyle desires.

My multifaceted research yielded many opportunities to improve device ergonomics, cognitive intuitiveness, pain management, schedule adherence, record-keeping, social discretion, styling, comfort, and portability. From sketching, to physical model-making, to CAD modelling, I validated and prepared diverse prototypes for worldwide focus-group testing, always in dialogue with Sanofi to ensure mechanical feasibility for large-scale fabrication at an winning price point. Ultimately, our joint efforts produced innovative concepts, ensuring both medical efficacy and lifestyle factor compatibility.
